Ways to celebrate Rotary Foundation Month
Generous gifts to The Rotary Foundation help create lasting change in communities both close to home and around the world. Celebrate Rotary Foundation Month in November by engaging with current and prospective donors in your community and by making your own contribution to support our work. Here’s how:
  1. Support our Foundation on Giving Tuesday, 28 November. Make a gift to the Foundation, and share your support on social media. The top clubs in fundraising, participation, and online giving will be featured on My Rotary. Read about last year’s honorees.
  2. Share our impact. The Foundation transforms gifts into service projects that advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace by fighting disease, improving the quality of education, protecting the environment, alleviating poverty, and doing even more. Invite a Foundation scholarship recipient or a community member who was involved in or benefited from a grant project to speak about the Foundation’s impact on their life.
  3. Thank our donors. The Foundation will be sending special thank-you messages to donors around the world in November. But your leadership offers a more personal connection and deep understanding of the impact their contributions make.

Joshua’s Story

June 1st 2008

On a warm spring day in June during a family gathering at our home Joshua slipped out of sight for just a few short moments. He was quickly discovered in the backyard pool, unconscious and unresponsive. Family immediately started CPR and he was life flighted to Children’s Hospital in Omaha. After three days of lying by his side in the hospital Joshua was taken off life support and passed away shortly there after. We know Joshua would have been a great young man if given the opportunity. Therefore we decided to create the Joshua Collingsworth Memorial Foundation in his honor and from that day forward we committed to solving the problem of drowning. Joshua’s legacy will continue through the education of parents and children to keep them safe in and around water with new, innovative, safety education training programs and water awareness campaigns.

“Too Brief Here On Earth, But His Impact Will Last Forever…”

In loving memory of our beloved son Joshua,

Kathy & Blake Collingsworth
